FROM OUR CUSTOMER

I am Joe Turek the Chief Technology Officer with a start up company called Soundwave Hearing. We are designing a hearing aid that requires a highly integrated, surface mount PCB requiring some very innovative technology. We knew up front we would need the assistance and expertise of American Standard Circuits and their vast knowledge of fabricating advanced circuits. We sat down with their experts, Dave Lackey and Anaya Vardya, and after explaining our parameters and constraints they helped nail down exactly what we needed to build.

In the end our design comprised of a 6 layer rigid flex PCB, SMT assembly on both sides and circuitry down to 3 mil lines and spaces with blind and buried vias. Our product not only included 0102 components but also an imbedded antenna for Bluetooth transmission. We have never designed a board with this complexity and had no idea where to start. Flex board design is way out of our comfort zone.

Dave guided us through the whole design process, making recommendations for material selection and layer stack up to meet our needs. It turned out to be a masterful design and the board worked the first time ASC manufactured it for us. We could never get this type of expertise and service out of Asia. ASC really knows Rigid-Flex. I was afraid to design with these requirements but ASC made the process simple, easy and affordable. Thanks to the great team at American Standard Circuits to make our product a success!
