Wet Process Engineer

ASC is the largest independent printed circuit board manufacturer within the Mid-West.  This growing company is looking to expand our manufacturing controls and capabilities within our Process Engineering department. The person selected will be responsible for the process design, setup, operating parameters, and maintenance of three key areas within a PCB manufacturing facility.  These processes have the largest impact upon circuit line width definition and include imaging, plating, and etching.  This is an engineering function. No management of personnel is required.


  • The individual must be able to organize their own functions to match the goals of the company.
  • Responsible for panel preparation, dry film lamination, exposure, development and the processes, equipment setup and maintenance programs.
  • Responsible for the automated (PAL Line) electrolytic copper plating process and the equipment setup and maintenance programs.
  • Responsible for both the cupric (acid) etching and the ammoniacal (alkaline) etching processes and the equipment setups and maintenance programs.
  • Ability to perform basic lab analysis and troubleshooting as required.
  • Ability to use measurement and analytical equipment as necessary.
  • Ability to work along side managers, department supervisors and operators to cooperatively resolve issues.
  • Effective problem-solving skills are a requirement.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Effective communication and reporting skills while interfacing at every level within the organization.



Reports to the Technical Director.


Degree in Engineering (BChE or I.E. preferred).  Equivalent work experience will be considered. A high school diploma is required. Ability to read and speak English. Literate and functional with most common business software systems MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint are required.  Microsoft Access and basics of statistics and SPC are a plus.


Standing for long periods of time is required.

Exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally may be required.  Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, and copiers.

Use of hand tools requires dexterity.


This position is in a manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, dirt, and chemicals.
